FINALLY worked out why my clean clips all distorted (MQ/BD)
« on: August 13, 2006, 01:06:50 AM »
my preamp volume was way too high, so you couldn't really hear what i was hearing....

on this clip, however, it's all clean, apart from when i really hit the strings

all improvised, so i end up going into a couple of songs part way through, and i missed a string in a couple of places, and my top string broke like 30 seconds before recording this...

the start of the clip (first 3 mins, roughly) is all the neck Mississippi Queen, then i change to the middle position for a bit, then onto the bridge black dog (you'll hear the change), and just before the Arctic monkeys, i turn on the BD coil split, which makes it sound slightly distant because it's not overdriven

and i apologise in advance for playing arctic monkeys towards the end

oh yeah, and the EQ was set to B: 5 M: 5 T: 5 P: 2 and the 'bright' switch was on, with the clean gain set to about 4
