Agreed, I'd buy a few if I wasn't completely overdrawn!

If you go to http://www.epcbuyer.com, you can get a Shure PG57 for under £28 (don't know how much p&p is though!). Only slightly cheaper if you buy more than 3...  :?

http://www.epcbuyer.com/products.asp?recnumber=9676

The PG is "Performance Grade", basically a cheaper SM57 that's probably made in China. The PG58 is solid vocal mic, with good response, equal to an SM58.
Bibble.
BKP's: Black Dog set, Emerald set, & Crawler set.

Are these Shure mic at http://www.jarlonline.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=40 the real thing? I've seen some fake ones on ebay, so I'm a bit careful:-)

I found a place a while back selling SM57s for £40, instead of the £70 they seem to be fetching elsewhere http://www.jarlonline.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=40

That leaves you some more money to spend on a stand...but yeah, you'd probably need something to get it to your laptop with...

http://www.dv247.com/invt/9473/ that would probably do :)

I have 1 of those MobilePRE USB Interfaces myself :)

It's a very basic unit, but it gets the job done and lets you make decent quality recordings with little effort :)
Selling lots of gear, enquire within!......

Here's the DI on the back of my attenutor. I did try and sell this idea to you when you were going for the Hotplate!

That IT clip i did (the random one!) went out of this via the XLR socket with a straight mic and 4 x 12 sim

It's a real shame that THD (or any other attenuator manufacturers for that matter) didn't put a speaker sim in the line out

Check out the TAD Silencer. It has a very good cab sim on its line out. I wouldn't use it on its own, though - I prefer the direct sound mixed with a condenser mic. 8)
