If you go to http://www.epcbuyer.com, you can get a Shure PG57 for under £28 (don't know how much p&p is though!). Only slightly cheaper if you buy more than 3... :?

The PG is "Performance Grade", basically a cheaper SM57 that's probably made in China. The PG58 is solid vocal mic, with good response, equal to an SM58.

I have 1 of those MobilePRE USB Interfaces myself :)

It's a very basic unit, but it gets the job done and lets you make decent quality recordings with little effort :)

Here's the DI on the back of my attenutor. I did try and sell this idea to you when you were going for the Hotplate!

That IT clip i did (the random one!) went out of this via the XLR socket with a straight mic and 4 x 12 sim

Check out the TAD Silencer. It has a very good cab sim on its line out. I wouldn't use it on its own, though - I prefer the direct sound mixed with a condenser mic. 8)

Yeah I think I remember you saying about that, couldnt seem to find that box anywhere for a decent price, plus malicioussteve had the Hotplate for a good price :)
