Best Pickup For Floyds?

Remember that thread I posted a while back about a (100 year old Mahogany) Charvel San Dimas body I got? - http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4350

It's routed for an Original Floyd Rose that's non-recessed, and will be paired with an all maple neck. I'm still floating around pickup options, and since this guitar will be my only one with a locking trem I want it to do the pinch harmonics, natural harmonics, harmonic glides, dive bombs, gargling etc really well. Also being an 80s Charvel clone, I guess it would be really cool if it had a George Lynch style tone to it.

It'll be going into a 1959 100w Marshall, which is halfway between a Superlead and Superbass and is pretty thick and fat sounding. I've got it just about perfect for a killer rock tone with the VHII in my other guitar.

So what pickup would you advise for this guitar? I'm more of an old school metal player than modern heavy stuff with ultra high gain distortion, and I like to preserve the open rich sound of my guitars. Having said that, I do want enough gain to do all the crazy floyd stuff too that I can't do as fluidly on my other guitars, without makign the tone overly thick and compressed sounding.

Never played either, but Nailbomb or Holy Diver sounds just what you're after! You'll have to post some clips whenever you get round to finishing the guitar :D

Twilight Odyssey has said that the Miracle Man gives a great George Lynch tone. He ought to know. With your amp you're already 3/4 of the way there. All your clips with that amp and the VHII have been pretty amazing sounding. The pickup will just be really sweet icing on a delicous cake.

The Miracle Man is a fantastic pickup i've used one for quite some time and it was the main pickup in my gigging guitar for my metal band for the whole life of the band.

It's not exactly the most dynamic pickup in the world, but it isnt too compressed it deffinatly gives some real kick to your amp though and I think with what u've said something a bit more organic might be better for you..

HolyDiver, Nailbomb etc.
