Installed the VHII last night but had to wait until today before I could evaluate the pickup in anger (well, loud! :) ). I'm pleased to report that this pickup does exactly what it says on the tin (or box!), giving a sonic performance that sounds like a vintage PAF that has been gorging itself on the local beef farmer's prize livestock... it's full of beefy goodness with no flab!
What continues to amaze me about BKP pickups is just not how clear the pickups remain across the frequencies under various musical situations, but in particular how the bass response holds together. It never gets to sounds (and a highly technical term is about to be coined here) fartyŠ :)
