BKP 90 and MULE clip
« on: August 21, 2006, 09:50:22 PM »
here is a clip I did, it's my first one to post on here. The rythmn guitar tracks use my JJ's bridge mule, and the lead guitar/melody layers are using the JJ's BKP90 neck position pickup. There is a slide guitar track in there too, which is using the BKP90 in the neck. I just did this for a bit of variation. The guitar I use is a handmade JJ Retro, it has an Alder body, with a thick AAA grade mahogany top and a brazillian rosewood fretboard, as well as being a through piece neck. Enjoy!

Hey, great mix of the guitars, great tone, and fun to listen to.
I didn't know the Mules would sound this good under higher gain stuff (I just ordered my first set of BKs -- Black Dogs). Rock on.

most excellent clip!  i like that you didn't mix the lead parts ridiculously high, they're just right.  although the little clean slide part could maybe do with being a little higher in the mix.  monstrous rhythm tone, and what effect do you have on the lead part?  some kind of harmoniser?

edit:  just re-read your first post, the melody is multi-tracked?  so it is harmonised, but it's not an effect, it's actually you?  cool

ai, yep I played three layers of lead guitars, two tracks are the same (low) pitch, then another take was played an octave higher. Glad you like the mix as well, I agree with you about the slide guitar, although it did sound perfectly balanced through the monitors at the time, how bizarre.
