TO will like this

is a jam with George Lynch, Gus G, some 20 year old japanese shred fiend, and a guy in a red pvc waist coat called Syu

SHRED ATTACK!

I think its off the japnese TV show that has Paul Gilbert and Marty Friedman having guitar battles with other players (guess the song, fastest lick, can you do THIS? type challenges).. they also have jams and duels on it.. we dont get anything like that on MTV

They are all ESP endorsers (endorsees? I can't remember). Syu plays in a band called Galneryus,  not sure about the Omura guy but I think I've seen him in some of the guitar magazines here.

With the Kiss of DEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH!!!

You were correct.

What an amazing jam!!

Not totally fair, considering Lynch wrote the original. I love how Gus G picks up RIGHT WHERE Lynch leaves off ... the other 2 guitarists were pretty lost, and not really playing to the backing. I also love how Gus G played the original Lynch solo verbatim for the 1st part of the jam ... that guy's got class. Wish I was there ... I could do some damage over that backing!!

I would give my eye teeth to know what amp Lynch used there. His tone was INSANE! (Sounded like my Splawn! :) )

FIYAH POWA!!!

Oh, speaking of unsung/Japanese guitarists ...

How about the phenomenal Norifumi Shima from Concerto Moon?
That band ROCKS!! (I have all their albums, their live album, and their live DVD)

speaking of John Norum, don't forget Kee Marcello who played some beautiful solos on 'out of this world'...
...and speaking of beautiful solos I should also mention Vito Bratta...

I saw on another clip that he does endorse ESP... it looks like it could be from the same sessions as that jam, hes sitting in front of a wall of H&K amps and a couple of other ones, has a red ESP strat.

I like his style, hes what 22yrs old? Doesnt get stuck in the Malmsteen sound alike playing either!

Loving that clip TO 8)

Hmm Gingataff.. know anywhere to get X Japan cds from where you live? ;)

me being primarily a blues/rock guitarist i would have to say i don't think some of the blues slide guitarists get hte recognition they deserve such as derek trucks, duane allman, robert johnson and chris rea.

I remember going to see Chris Rea in the mid 80s and he was amazing, originally I didn't want to go because I had only heard his whimpy ballads.

Oh how wrong I was

^ that's what most of the people i know think of chris rea but if you actually listen to his less mainstram, more bluesy stuff like the stuff on dancing down the stony road or blue guitar you realise how good he is. that's just my opion though.
