Yipeee!!! Im finaly getting a tube amp! I kno its not 100 watts like ive been talkin about , but this way I can turn it all the way up and get great power amp Dist. at a resonable volume. And im gonna MOD the living piss out of it  . Im thinkin ill prob start with the mercury magnetics transformer upgrade and then go from there. I saw some cool DIY kinda MOD kits designed specificaly for the Valvie on ebay a lil while ago. I belive they were a tone Pot mod and a 3-way gain switch mod. 20 bucks a pop too so Id say thats a no brainer. After I can get all that done Im positive I still wanna get the BSM RM Metal Treble Booster (replica of Tony Iommis 'Tweaked RM") to drive the meager but still VERY potent front end with:]. Anyways, just thought Id share that with yall any comments / suggestions are welcome. One quickie tho, should I change the stock tubes to JJ'S? Ive heard people say that it could benefit from this and it seems to be a pretty cheap upgrade.

I think you should get the amp and listen to it first before thinking about any changes or mods!

yeh i kno, Im not gonna start doin any major tone modifications until i can afford to anyways. I have heard a couple pretty nice sound clips of the Merc Mag Transformers though and they def made it sound like there was an amazing difference from the standard OT's. And I kno eventualy im prob gonna have to do a gain mod of some kind cause it just wont get the kind distortion I need stock.

hi nice amp choice, I'm gonna get this amp as well as a recording and live amp. They're amazing value, but I wouldnt go for the combo, go for the head, it's more versitile and quiter I've heard. As for mods, I recon the valve head stock sound will be OK. The only mod I'd get done is a change to JJ tesla tubes, it will be worth it! I plan to do this on mine once i get it ; )

I'd also get a Keeley Java Boost for a treble booster, I'd use nothing else, you can get an awesome mid boosted tone from it, it's as good as old records sound, aka Hendrix, Queen and Black Sabbath sounds. Proper fat! I can get the purple haze tone exactly as it was through a cr@ppy 15 watt marshall tranny effort! that's impressive. www.robertkeeley.com

What's the wattage?  I am guessing 5-20.  If it's 15 watts, perhaps the new MM Studio 15 transformer would be a good match, I think it's out now....

Someone from plexipalace.com sent theirs in so they could make a replica...
