Les Paul Custom - P90 ?
« on: September 03, 2006, 06:56:56 PM »
Hi all

I currently have serious GAS.....no..no........ Guitar Gas.

I feel the need to try out a guitar with p90 in it, now rather than pay a couple of grand for a guitar loaded with such, what about dropping in some P90 humbucker from BKP?

I changed the standard Gibson PU for BK Cold Sweats so soldering wont be a problem. but is there anything else I should watch out for.

Any opinions on the sound I would get or indeed any opinions would be appreciated.

regards

Phil

You should definitely tell Tim about your plans and inform him about the current BKP Humbucker, so he can wind the P90 to match level and style.

You might also wanna add a push-pull poti to split the Humbucker when you play both pickups together.

Otherwise this should give you great new sound colors !

You could also have the P90 tapped for more versatility, then you can wire up two taps (P90 set) or one tap and a coil-split (HB/P90 set) on a push-pull pot. It's as if you had two different set of pickups in your guitar. :)

I think that there is a H/b sized P90-check out products page.
