I reckon that it has about equal power to the JB but it is differently voiced.
It also seems to have a similar power range to the Gibson 500T as found in the LP Classic and tthe Flying V and Explorer models
Dan Hawkins of The Darkness swapped out his 500t pickups for Cold Sweats recently .....
The Cold Sweat was kind of designed to replicate the great tone that was epitimised by John Sykes' Black LP as heard on the Thin Lizzy Thunder and Lightning album and of course the remixed Slide It In and 1987 Whitesnake albums
John had apparently been using the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup - as did many players using 70s Gibsons (including Michael Schenker)
There have been a few interesting experiments such as teaming up a Cold Sweat bridge with a Miracle Man neck which worked pretty well (in a hair-raising way) but Tim has come up with the really tasty Cold Sweat neck pickup which seems to capture the fluid neck tone just nicely and still be in typical neck spec as far (as DC resistance ratings go), which make it a slightly more versatile choice.
