I have an empty strat in need of pups. Wondering what can do SRV blues, cleans but has balls for heavy rock? John Norum meets Hendrix

The expected reply here will be the Irish Tours.

I have a set of Apaches in my strat that can (of course) have great clean tones, but can also deliver a surprising amount of grunt when needed.

Irish Tours. 500K pots will open them up nicely.

I'd also suggest considering Slowhands.

Slowhand seems little hotter? More mids? Is there really a big difference?

I dont know about IT's - compared to the Apaches, they do indeed have more mids- are great clean and when I have cranked things they respond brilliantly. They are great for blues- I tend to play cleanish or just breaking up tone. The Apaches are also fantastic when pushed it must be said. Sorry not helping much.
