This is the one I'm getting: http://www.guitarjapan.com/edwards/img/E-LP-90LTC_B.jpg

But ordering it from http://www.ishibashi-music.com/. I ordered by sending them an e-mail because their website translation was shitee! I couldn't find edwards but it might be because they are not in stock.

Experiences so far:
Extremely helpful customer service (I spoke to a guy called Hiroaki who was great and got back to my e-mails in literally a few minutes and was extremely professional and just generally came off as a nice and helpful guy) .Hiroaki sent me a link to pay by credit card, they also accept bank wire transfer for Y3000 extra, no paypal which is a shame.

Thus far, a really smooth ordering process!

Cost:
"E-LP-90LTC/Black w/soft case --- 72,000Yen
Shipping/Insurance fee       --- 16,000Yen(U.K.)
------------------------------------------------
The TOTAL                    --- 88,000Yen"
88000 yen = 403.910 GBP

I ordered my other guitar (Orville By Gibson) from guitargai and can say that he is also a good dealer, if a bit more expensive - he dosn't do edwards though.

That Custom is beautiful   :o

How much are you going to have to pay in taxes?

I'd be VERY interested to know how the whole buying process goes.

Not quite sure at the moment, on my other Lp it was £60-70 but it cost arround £600.

Either way I'll be paying a fair bit :( On the up side though, it is still going to be a bargain :D I'll post replies and tell you how it goes!

I think the import duty etc. is about 22% (and if you are anal, can work it out, they CANNOT include shipping costs in their calculations).

*puts glasses on*

Cost of good = 72,000Y
= 330GBP

22% of 330

330 / 100 = 3.3

3.3 x 22 =

£72.6

Buggar. Still a good deal though!

By the you DO have to include shipping costs in that.  So it should be:

£403.91

+3.7% import duty

£418.85

+17.5% VAT

£492.15

Call it a nice round £500 then.  Still sounds like a good price!

Hmm, when I read Customs docs I thought shipping cost should NOT be included in their tax rate. Oh well, still cheap.
And Ben, me Bad? nahhhhhhhhh. I just really fancy the White Custom LP to mod/pimp/BKP
EVERYTHING have read about Edwards is VERY good so it's WAY cheaper than a real Gibbo (and thats when/if ya can find a good one).

Actually, the other day I played a Dean EVO special in trans black quilt. Now you can get this guitar for £260 online, but it was better than a "bad" Gibson if you know what I mean. The neck was a real suprise too, thin and fast with a great heeljoin, really quick and playable. A set of Rebel Yells, some locking tuners and a locking Tune-a-matic and STILL mucho change from £500, I think the credit card could be getting flexed ;)
My wife will be unhappy though, as on those Edwards pages I saw 2 superstrats, an explorer, a pointy and two lesters that I really liked :(

I own a E-LP-90LTC the black one and It's really a nice guitar. I ordered it thru Ishibashi which was a nice experience (and a fast one I might add). Compared to Tokai I think you'll get much better quality as I've heard there has been quite many upsets in Tokai's quality control nowadays.  Well I love it a lot and I haven't noticed any flaws n it. Just remember to change to Seymours to BKP's A.S.A.P  :D

Congrats mate!!

I've got their take in the Randy Rhoads (E-RV-138) and it's a great guitar.

Import tax does indeed suck but the isn't much you can do to get around it.  :(
