Hi everybody!

well... I finally think I found the mystical holy grail of pickup tone... well in theory. I heard amazing comments of these pickups and heard your clips and I was totally blown away!! First of all... I don't know what is better for what... so maybe if I can list you all of my equipment and musical taste you can guide me to my first Bare Knuckle pickups :D .

first of all, I'm the only guitar in my band (and it will stay like that), so I need something that can cover my ass and can sound full always. I play metal, but this is a progresive kind of metal where you need to shred, riff, use incredible speed, technic and dinamics, scales, rich warm sustainy melody... welll everything you can with high gain and also cover smooth and warm melody progressions when the high gain is gone and ready to kick in any time in your face.  But the high gain is the most important factor.

I use Mesa Boogie Mark Series: Mark IV and Mark IIC+
and most importantly I use my Randy Rhoads Jackson guitar: the RR1 model made of Alder and all that stuff.

I'm sorry if my first post is too long... but I would really like some help to make a wise purshase.

thanks  :)

Hmm. Well, I'll start off by saying that the only BKs I've played are the Abraxas, Holydiver and Slowhands - none of which will be suitable for you. Because of this, everything I tell you from here on will be based on what I've heard from discussions and the clips, and therefore might be completely wrong (someone please say so if this is the case).

From what I've gathered, the Miracle Man/Cold Sweat is a popular combo for high gain riffage (on the MM) and soloing (on the CS)...However (and this is where my knowledge becomes shaky) I'm thinking that the Nailbomb may be a better option for the dynamics you speak of because of its Alnico V magnet, rather than having a ceramic magnet.

But then the MM/CS still sounds a fearful combo, and might be my next set of BKs so y'know, it's all based on what you want to achieve really...

thanks for the responses! and YES it would be very very nice to nail that versatil Petrucci tone, especially because I use IIC+ boogie and mark IV.

and another question...

I found in the gallery section a "Bare Knuckle sig black covered with torn battle wearing". How can I order a Miracle man/cold sweat combo with that incredibly beautiful finish? also... I'm from the US... how much aprox. would that be?

thanks  :D

Welcome
I lived in US for years (now back in UK).
Ask Tim (BKP owner/designer etc.) for anything 'not on site' i.e. custom. He is VERY easy to get along with/obliging. Also, when ordering there is a comment box for any such requests.
When ordering (if online) when you check out 17.5% (our UK Tax) will be DEDUCTED from total.
Sooooooooo, go to xe.com (currency converter) punch in cost of pups minus 17.5% for cost. Shipping is about £6 If I remember of about $10 ish.

Good luck,
Nick
