Hi,

I've been trying to learn this song, and i've started to get those licks going. :D

so any ideas how to get that sound... i can get pretty close with my Koch studiotone.. but it lacks something.

Is Gary just using Soldano amp and maybe ibanez tube screamer or ...  :?

Les Paul + Marshall Guvnor + Soldano/Marshall was his rig at the time I think...

Agreed
Think he was using a Marshall Bluesbreaker or a JTM 45

He said himself a JTM45.

Gary's rig for this album was mainly a Gibson LP, a Marshall Guv'nor and (if I remember correctly) the prototype for what became the 1st series of JTM45 re-issues.

This album is 1 of my favourite guitar tones on record ever!  :D

Anyone know how much one of those original Guv'nor pedals cost in the UK now? Over here they're over 100 quid, mind you original made in japan Boss pedals are going up in price too.

[Edit:]
I am of course referring to one of these

and not one of these http://www.marshallamps.com/product.asp?productCode=Guvnor

Same here :)

ok, it's Marshall then, i thought he was using Soldano at the time, because on  the gigs at the early 90's he was using soldano :\

But two month ago when he was here in Finland he used Marshalls :D

Have to check out that Marshall Guv'nor, hope they have one at the local music store  8)

Ipersonally prefer the older series of Marshall Guv'nor pedals (like the 1 Gary used).

There is a new version, but imo it doesn't sound as good as the original 1 :)

I've seen the Govnor advertised for $69.00 US, I don't know about in the UK or Japan. I do know I am being hit hard for the BKP WP & MM. However tone is worth the price.

Well i went to see that pedal yesterday, and ended up buying one :D

i like it very much, i once had Dunlop Zakk Wylde overdrive and this is better  (imho) and it's cheaper too..
