Pickup Covers for this Guitar...
« on: September 20, 2006, 11:18:02 PM »

Any suggestions??

It's annoying me that gold is one of the only pickup covers that will go well with it.

What about camo/distressed?
Also black, though i'm not sure.

Any ideas will be helpful :)

Black with gold polepieces looks great  8) Although I remember suggesting em before and you didnt seem too thrilled with the idea.. Distressed would look pretty cool though.

2 rows of gold poles I'm guessing, like a Warpig?

Sorry for being boring, but....

Stick with gold, it looks great.

Black would look too... black, unless maybe you got gold mounting rings?

Can they do gold with black polepieces? I've always liked that sort of half and half gold and chrome thing that PRS do on private stocks.
gold covers with black polepieces and some graphtech saddles would give you a very classy yet different look.

Why have covered pickups at all?  Tim's explorer looks cool with gold hardware & black uncovered pickups....

Yeah, but Tim's Explorer has a natural finish so you can see the pickups - the black pickups would "disappear" on the black Explorer.  And they'd look weird next to the white pickguard (unless it was replaced with a black one, for a total Black & Gold look?)

How much are you going to be modding the guitar? Are you keeping the white scratch plate? Are you going to be adding a graphic to the body, or just keeping it black?

If you switch the hardware to chrome (or even black), matte black nickel covers with the BK logo on em would look greata against the white!

I'd say stick with the golden covers
just try to find a mirror gold pickguard somewhere and it will look HOT HOT HOT
