Anyone with a stormy monday bridge?
« on: June 16, 2005, 03:10:17 AM »
I got to ask this again.  Is there anyone out there with a Stormy Monday BRIDGE clip they can post.  I would like to hear this pup in an lp but at this point I'll take it in any guitar.  If possible I would like to hear it clean and dirty.  Thanks in advance for putting my mind at rest.

Hey Sean,

Don't forget Tim'll make sure your 100% happy with the Stormy!

They're along teh lines of the Mule, just not quite as hot!

The Stormy Monday replicates the patent no. humbuckers from '61 onwards that Gibson put in the SGs and then Customs thrpugh to the mid '70s.The only difference is I use an alnico IV magnet to produce a slightly more aged tone over the V which was always a touch too harsh/over bright with a DC7.2K pickup.
The tone is very clear with alot of presence............it's not gutless either.Sounds particularly nice in semis although gives an aweful lot of definition and articulation to a LP.

I have one in the neck of my Ibanez, I might put it in the bridge on another guitar just to see.

Im gonna try to figure out what the pups might sound like using the mules as a starting point.  Thanks again HJM for the SM neck clip.
