SG + Warpig and what else
« on: September 24, 2006, 03:41:08 AM »
I know I am going to put the Warping in the bridge of my SG. However, I am having trouble choosing what else would compliment this best. I want the Chung of the Warpig and I think I need a cutting sustaining lead too; so what do you all think?

Warpig calibrated set. The MQ on the neck is an excellent option. A P-90 in a humbucker size with a Leslie West vibe.

Thanks! How about the Mirical Man in the neck with the Warpig in the bridge does anyone have any experience with this combo?

I thought about that one, actually.
I've heard the pups in those positions, but not in the same guitar.

Where in NY are you located?

I did ask the same question to Tim and you may want to go with the Warpigs (higher output, I did, or the lower output like Riff Raff, P-90s, Mules, "Aisuru" has them on his SG,  or MQ that Shag 101 has on his SG. Choose your weapons well :) .

I'm about 15 miles north of Manhatten, Scarsdale.

How did the WP and MM sound together, and what were they in?

Cool! Well, I live in Brooklyn and work/rehearse in the city (Ultrasound), so if you want, we can schedule a night to meet up and have a couple pints if you like. Then we can go to the studio to check out some BKP guitars.

PhilKing also works in the city and he lives in Hoboken, and I'm sure he'd be willing to bring in a couple of guitars for the occasion.

They weren't used together. Both guitars belong to PhilKing. Dunno what he has em in now, but the Warpig was in an explorer, and the MM was in the neck of a PRS, if memory serves.

The Warpig is in the Explorer with the MQ neck pu and the MM is a calibrated set in a Warmoth PRS clone with a rosewood/ebony neck.

TO is right, if you want to come into the city we have a vast selection of BK's you could try!!

Thanks guys the pints can be on me, we can work out a night that works. Wednesday or Saturday nights would work best for me or an early Thursday could work too. I am off on Thursdays and Sundays. However, I must warn you I am a first year guitar player, I had been a keyboard player in my younger days and decided to give the guitar a go after being away from playing for many years. I am progressing but I am not worth listening to yet. I, like my SG,  am a work in progress.

No worries, dude!

Phil and I are poles apart when it comes to playing style, but we still have a blast!

I'll PM you today and we'll start crunching dates!

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it. I guess I should try to do some work now so I can afford to play later.
