Quartz, S/T

Philly Q, I await your response!! :)

I'm going to let you down a bit, Ben.  I remember Quartz, and I know Geoff Nicholls went on to be Sabbath's semi-official keyboard player, but the only thing I actually have with them on is the Muthas Pride 12" EP.  And maybe a couple of tracks on NWOBHM compilations.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

  Is the album any good, by the way?  I'm finding so little new stuff of interest I keep going back to the '70s and early '80s.

That is the best time period for music, imo.

The first album is hit or miss. It was produced by Iommi, and Brian May guest guitars on the song Circles. The songs Mainline Riders and Pleasure Seekers from the s/t are great.

By the 3rd-4th album, it's all good.

I shall check it out.  In fact I think I've had at least one of their albums on my Amazon wishlist for years.

Ah how sweet - listen to the pensioners talking about the good old days... Why not listen to some real music?! Oasis FTW \o/

(this is obviously not to be taken seriously)

And not exactly up-to-date either!  Noel's almost as old as me!

Def Leppard - High 'n' Dry

Main riff in 'Let it Go' = PURE TONE! I wonder what the rig is.

pure cutting edge up to date stuff! (ahem)

Ozzy live with Zakk recently, live n loud, and a bit of Budokan.

I think Let it go is straight in to 100w JMP's, maybe the line is boosted a little bit.
I love that song!

I think they use a similar backline

And I think the explorer may have been a Hamer standard?

Yeah, I remember that interview!  Duncan '59s eh, after all the stick they get on this forum!

I think High 'n' Dry is by far the best Def Leppard album, always will be.

Taking us away from horrid, spandex straining, cliche ridden 80's pomp nonsense.

I have Clutch - Blast Tyrant on.

Now THAT'S tone, played by big fat men with big beards  8)
