More Isis, this time the In the Absence of Truth album. I really like this genre of music at the minute, not really sure what you'd call it. Probably post-metal, whatever that's meant to mean

Queen - Rock Montreal

Every 12-18 months I have a Queen binge that lasts a couple of weeks, haven't had one since before I joined this forum...

But I think this might have started another attack... Nurse, the pills, get the pills...

Electric Wizard - Come my Fanatics and the self titled debut. Both are awesome, I think Come my Fanatics is my favourite EW album so far.

i've actually been listening to St.Anger! drum sound aside i think it's a great album, much more creative than Death Magnetic.  the new one may be the album they should have released 18 years ago, but that's kinda the problem. while St. Anger moved them in a new direction Death Magnetic is a clear step backwards. and given what Kirk Hammet has come up with this time around, did anyone really miss his solos?

i think St. Anger has probably Hetfield's best, most emotional vocal performance.  the songs are more mature, more personal.  it's a bleak, confessional, often painful record.  it didn't sound like people expected.
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

I was right in my last post, and so was Philly actually...

Sheer Heart Attack

Listened to it last night in bed, and again now. What a stunning piece of work that album is. Night at the Opera, Day at the Races, and Live Killers are also in the multi-cd changer (get the wife's Barry Manilow and Neil Young CDs out of the way for a bit )

Not much wrong with Mr Young - what an awesome guitar tone he has on his more aggressive stuff.

(And ol' Barry has written some decent songs too, I have to admit...)

Iron Maiden, Dance Of Death. Cover art nonwithstanding, a great album.
