Finally got round to buying the Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous DVD today :D (used to have it on video, but it wore out...)

For some reason I'd never cottoned on that Robbo's black Les Paul was a custom - suddenly my black Love Rock doesn't look quite so right sat next to the TV! :?

I just got the Live and Dangerous CD and its awesome :) Cant believe it took me so long to get it. Is the DVD worth getting then?

Love that album!  Not one to listen to every day, just great to drag it out occasionally and be amazed.

I'd say the DVD might prove disappointing if you're in the first flush of "what an amazing album" Live and Dangerous is. But once you remember that this was the 70s, and it's a real gig filmed in the 70s, then it does the job (I waited until I found it going cheap though!)

Aerosmith - Honkin' On Hobo

I'm just, er, "rippin" some of my CDs to update the old mp3 player ready for the commencement of another year of struggling to work... and I'd forgotten how damn fine this album is :D

Really?  Although I love all the early stuff I completely gave up on them after Nine Lives, I just couldn't stand any more formulaic cr@p written with outside songwriters (although I love Permanent Vacation, which in retrospect was, unfortunately, the start of all that).   I've never even heard the last 2 albums.

Is Honkin' on Bobo actually rockin', or have they gone for the "authentic" ( ) blues approach like some of Clapton's recent stuff?

@rses are kicked and names are taken :D

Of course, it's all personal taste though... I've just started ripping Pump, and to me Honkin on Hobo has the same sort of sound as that... and there's some fine old standards on it - I wouldn't say they've gone for the "authentic" blues approach though
