The new Napalm Death album is getting some serious play here, as is the Trap Them back catalog.

Loads of mates that have very similar taste to me bum this band but I just can't get into them. I don't dislike them I just don't get particularly excited.

Listening to a big punk, hardcore and grind playlist just now. Last.fm says my last tracks have been;

Fugazi – Waiting Room
Rotten Sound – Blind
Rudimentary Peni – When You Are a Martian Church
Biohazard – Last Man Standing full track
Napalm Death – Feeling Redundant
Napalm Death – Thanks for Nothing
Napalm Death – Unfit Earth
D.R.I. – Abduction
Crass – Timeout
Biohazard – Remember

Killswitch Engage - End of Heartache and their live album. I never really listened to this sort of music before but I actually kinda like it now. Just makes a change from the usual rock etc I normally listen to. I've just been trying to learn Rose of Sharyn and its way harder than I thought it'd be :( Giving me a good rhythm workout though, I really need something to push me out of my comfort zone :)

Now get Slaughter of the Soul by At The Gates and Heartwork by Carcass and see where they get most of their ideas! Then get onto the GOOD ATG and Carcass albums  :lol:

In all seriousness, if you like End of Heartache those first two albums might be worth a look  :)

I allready have Heartwork by Carcass, great album. I prefer it to their earlier ones even though most Carcass fans seem to prefer those, I just cant get into them as much. Havent ever really listened to At the Gates, will have a look.

you definitely HAVE TO.
slaughter of the soul and terminal spirit disease are decades ahead of all this new scene of melodic death/thrash metal...  in particular i don't like at all the new wave of american deathsters trying to imitate old swedish standards and mixing them with gay emocore... :)
the GOOD ATG albums (to quote nfe  :P) are great if you like classic (well, maybe not completely classic) swedish death metal... spiced up with some of the most desperate melodies i remember...
