Lots of bands trying to get onto the bill for the festival I'm involved in.

A lot of them are rubbish, some are very good.

Since christmas I have been listening to Alter Bridge 'Blackbird', I am blown away by these guys (cool website intro aswell www.alterbridge.com ) storming riffage and awesome vocals, the production is top notch, a few of the come back bands of 2008 could have done with some of this.

Blood Ceremony - Blood Ceremony

I think these cats are my favourite new band of the last couple years. It just sounds like Sabbath with Jon Lord on keys, some Jethro Tull moments and a chick singing, but they're absolutely great.

Yeah, that's the "comedy" track at the end.  But the rest of it is brilliant too, loads of great songs and a remarkable lack of pinched harmonics.

Yep, Losin' Your Mind and Horse Called War blow the hell out of every other tune Zakk's ever played on a record.

Currently, Hail of Bullets - Of Frost and War.

Fantastic D-beat influenced death metal.
