W.A.S.P - I can't help but love Chris Holmes.. he's a simply underrated "attitude" guitarist.

Is that following your emo revelation earlier?   SDRE is the only emo band I like (although TBH I haven't listened to many others).

Haha nah I've always been this way! Diary's an album I never used to 'get', but recently it's just sort of clicked. It's definitely at the more 'emo' end of my 'emo collection' though lol.

Been listening to a bunch of Elkie Brooks on Spotify, notably "Circles" and "The Pearls Concert". The live one is stunning... currently trying to discover the best way of getting a CD copy.

Anyway, one thing led to another, and now me and the missus are going to see her in Wimbledon in May... I've wanted to see her ever since the late 70's, but never got round to it... (I'm far more excited about this than about seeing the Black Crowes a week earlier )

Meanwhile I've been prowling Elkie Brooks's website for an hour or two, and what do I find? The guitarist I've been listening to on Circles and The Pearls Concert is... one Mr Tim Mills :D

:D  Cool, I knew Tim had been in her band, but didn't know he'd recorded with her.

I'm not that familiar with her stuff, apart from the old hits, but I suspect she's a bit of a rocker at heart - I remember years ago seeing one of her shows on TV and the guitarist was a proper hard rock player, with hair like Glenn Tipton!

I seem to be travelling in a slightly different direction to the majority on here at the moment...

Agnetha Faltskog - My Colouring Book

Which led me to discover that my two favourite Searchers songs ("Needles and Pins", and "When You Walk Into the Room") were written by a woman  :o !!!

And a very talented one at that - Jackie DeShannon. I'd never heard of her :?, but she was apparently quite famous in the 60s (even supported the Beatles...)

Insect Warfare at the moment.

The first couple hours at work were The Beach Boys and Toots and the Maytals. Then the sun went away.

I had heard of Jackie DeShannon, but I always thought it was a bloke!

(She didn't write "Needles and Pins" though)
