That's a wonderdul album by one of Zappa's great bands but my CD copy has the worst mastering I've ever heard (TBH I haven't listened to Death Magnetic yet ;) ). It clips like crazy and the stereo balance is way off, I can't bear to listen to it :(

The tour on the back of this album had the best vocal arrangements of any Zappa material EVER! Check them out on the YCDTOSA sets.

Watching "Blues on Later With Jools Holland" on BBC4. ZZ Top were on, Billy had a single bridge humbucker goldtop I think. Looked awesome and sounded really good through the Orange he seemed to be playing.

Ah I didnt really pay much attention, his hand was covering it most of the time.

I really want one now though haha.  That black guy with the spotted strat had awesome tone as well, the sustain on it was immense as well.

edit - watching it again, it does appear to be a creme p90 :)

You mean the legendary BUDDY GUY!

I now have amazing G.A.S. for that Goldtop single pickup that Billy Gibbons was using - I looked as hard as I could and I'm 98% sure it said TOKAI on the headstock...

I need to know 100% though as it was gorgeous.

i'm fairly sure it's in the Rock'N'Roll gearhead book, i'll check when i get home and let y'all know ;)
