after the Heaven & Hell flurry last week, i ordered

Black Sabbath: Dehumanizer,
and i have that on in the car now.  Wow!  i'd always heard this was a poor reunion thing, but it's great! the aggression is roaring out of the speakers! Dio's voice is absolutely savage.  this is a Black Sabbath i haven't heard before, and i like it!

so, when i hit the gym last night (which i've just got back to after a 2 1/2 month lay-off with a shoulder injury)  i felt the need for aggression! i ended up with...

Kreator:  Enemy Of God Revisited

that'll scare away squirrels and small children!  :twisted:

poor reunion thing? the typical statement from people who think that music died in 1975 or 'round there... dehumanizer is a great album!

I don't think music died in 1975 (1995 maybe?  :wink: ).... but I have said more than once on here that I don't think Dehumanizer is very good - compared with Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules it sounds too harsh and a lot less melodic (IMO).  Dio sounds savage, as Blue said.... but I'm not sure I like it.

Having said that, I listened to all the Dio/Sabbath stuff last week before listening to the Heaven & Hell album, and in fact Dehumanizer is better than I remembered - I still think it's disappointing compared to its predecessors, but there is some good stuff on there.

Now, I'm not sure about that Heaven & Hell album.... it hasn't grown on me yet.  :P

Aaaah......

.....I was talking about the new Heaven & Hell album, The Devil You Know, not Heaven and Hell the album.  The latter is one of my favourite albums ever, I bought it on the day it was released in 1980 and I've listened to it hundreds and hundreds of times!  :D

um, well, i put the disc in and pressed play, this heartbeat started, so i turned the lights off and lay down, and enjoyed the SACD surround mix.  was good.

so, are you playing it yourself, or going to see it being played?
