Django Reinhardt. Guitar hero of the moment for me.

EDIT: hahaha imagine Guitar Hero:Django Reinhardt edition. Now they'd have a hard time marketing that to the kiddies with spiky hair, black hoodies, and massive jeans.

^^ i like that :)

anyway, got two cd's yesterday; Chickenfoot and the 25th anniversary re-issue of Whitesnake's Slide It In.

had Chickenfoot on in the gym last night.  admittedly, not the best environment for trying out new music! it sounds good enough, but didn't quite grab me.  will certainly listen to it more though, it may well be a grower.  between Ronnie James Dio, the ever youthful Alice Cooper, Brian Johnson and now Sammy Hagar, it seems all the singers i'm listening to these days are OLD!  and they all still got it!

this morning i put on Slide it In.  believe it or not, i'd never heard the US version of this album.  i like it!  was very much enjoying it in the car.  i'll have to do a comparison of the two versions to see just how different they sound.
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

Tool

Currently 10,000 days. Pretty good actually, I dont really listen to Tool much but I like this when I'm in the mood for it.

edit - actually, Maynards voice gets pretty annoying.

The Steel Panther album just arrived :D Sounds a bit more 'produced' than the Metal Skool versions of a couple of songs.
Well priced at £8.99 at HMV too, well worth the sh!ts and gigs

Joanna Newsom - Ys

Yeah she may sound like a strangled cat but I LOVE IT. This album is everything I'd hoped it would be. (I only just got it. Late to the game I know, but I try not to get artist's new albums until I've thoroughly exhausted the old ones, and I can't listen to the old one anymore because it reminds me too much of my ex girlfriend and I'm liable to break down :? )

I love music that really sounds like nothing else. Creating a unique sound nowadays must be quite a difficult task (everything's been done before), yet a few artists, some well-known and some not-so-well-known still seem to be pulling it off and that makes me happy.
LOVING the Mules!

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Live!

I know it's a classic, but I've never really listened to this before (except everyday everynight through the wall from some neighbours in the 80s!), but the missus just bought Legend remastered, and I did a little search on spotify and found it,

ooooh...

I think we might have to buy this.
