wow...!!!just discovered CLUTCH...got STRANGe COUSINS..where Have I been the last 15 yrs?I have listened to some of their earlier stuff as well..I am drawn towards their bluesier side(that damn Cypress Grove is smokin'!!)...any suggestions on best Clutch albums??(I still call them albums...) :)
Clutch is most definitely my favourite band in the world in space (whose members are under the age of 50, anyway

).
They haven't done any bad albums (I call them albums too  ), but the first two are a little more hardcore-ish, then they went to more of a stoner sound (bear in mind I'm not very good on "definitions" of different types of rock/metal...). It was never really sludgy though, they always had great songs and brilliant lyrics.
I'd say they started getting bluesier and groovier around the time of
Blast Tyrant and
Robot Hive/Exodus - those two albums are great - then the last two have been really very bluesy indeed.
Actually, a good place to start is the rarities compilation
Slow Hole to China. It used to be quite hard to get hold of, but it's been re-released this year with a few extra tracks.
