Maylene and the Sons of Disaster: III - groove-filled, with some awesome guitar work.
The Best of Rory Gallagher - haven't heard hardly any of his stuff before, and he's bloody brilliant!
Warpigs.

a high gain amp shootput i found on the marshall amp forum.  done by the same guys that did the pickup shootout that was mentioned in here somewhere a few months ago.  so far a dave friedman modded marshall is my favourite.  less gain than the diezel and bogner alongside it, but it just sounds fabulous!  and a modded 1971 marshall supertremolo sounds pretty excellent too.

the guitars they're using include ones with Cold Sweats and Rebel Yells.  cold sweat sounds great!
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

Somewhere, I think I've still got a Special Brew bottle that Kim gave me - sigh... :D

I've been going through one of my Rory Gallagher phases - Live in Europe and Irish Tour 74 have been in constant rotation on the bedside player for the last two weeks (subliminal guitar practice )

Managed to get the tractor radio (German) programmed into Planet Rock yesterday :D First I have heard of it, and they had a 1987 theme going on last night, which was great!

Didn't want to get out of the tractor

I'll be honest I saw them support motor and I thought they were bit of a joke. Never heard them on record though.

I assume you meant supporting motorhead? Was that recently? I saw them at the birthday bash at the hammy odeon (or wotever apollo it is now) a couple of years ago, and admittedly girlschool was a bit sad - it was almost like they'd got together again to do the gig and hadn't bothered rehearsing. But back in 80/81 they were pretty good live.

I was forced to watch them, well, hear them, I didn't have to look, at Hellfest this year as the booth to get drink tokens was right beside the stage they were on. I stood in slack-jawed disbelief.
