I must admit it's because of you and Jonathan that my interest was aroused. For some reason I missed out on them in the 80s, but better late than never.
I shall be certainly investing in some more of their discs in the near future.

Put Kings X - Ogre Tones on in the car on the way into work today.

Keep forgetting how much I love that band.  Must buy more Kings X...

Oh Yes - absolute classic !  :D

Those chaps really knew how to put on a show.

I love this lesser known gem of the spookily charismatic and talented Zal Cleminson with Elkie Brooks:

The best time / era ever was back in the 70's though ; Zal's clown make up and harlequin suit, Alex's incredible stage presence and acting . The album 'NEXT' being my all time SAHB favourite.  8)

Zal with Elkie?? :) (at work now, can't watch)

Yep, I'm just shaping up to get some SAHB on CD - I've got a best of on vinyl that I kind of miss being able to play... my missus is not yet convinced that she's going to enjoy all this, but she'll be fine

I turned down the chance to travel up to London to see what I guess was a "reunion" of SAHB in 81 or 82 - apparently it was a stunning gig - and I seem to recall he died not long after that... so I never got the chance to see him... :(

Great to see some'SAHB' love on here Andy;  :)

I met Alex Harvey briefly , during his " The Mafia Stole MY Guitar" tour, but that was with his 'New Band' - and so sadly I never got to meet Zal , who is still one of those cultural / guitar heroes I would love to meet.

I just wanted to post this footage of SAHB doing 'Framed' to a somewhat puzzled audience in Norway , circa 1974. All the magic ingredients are there, Alex going to great cosmetic lengths to prepare his theatrical appearance - and then smouldering through the peformance :  the almost Demonic yet laconic Zal looking and acting the business - and of course the powerhouse that was SAHB as a whole working unit.  Absolute madness, absolute genius.

What immense fun it must have been to be part of the band during those halcyon years !  :D
