I saw SAHB many times ( I even saw SAHB on the "without Alex" tour).Always a spectacle-I wasn't initially much of a fan but soon became one and I am bloody glad I did. I think that of all the "name" acts it is a close run thing of whether I saw SAHB or Dr Feelgood the most. Mostly at the Kursaal in Southend.
Send three and fourpence we're going to a dance

You lucky Devil !  :D

Both acts were ( I feel ) cut from the same uncompromisingly raw and unique cloth. I really enjoyed watching the recent BBC4 film on the original Feelgoods; two hours (?) worth of musical and biographical treasure . I especially have a fondness for Wilko Johnson ;  both for his 'wind up mouse' act /  fantastic Tele-tones when young - and the sheer uniqueness , sensitivity and affability of the older man.

In both SAHB and Dr. Feelgood, I fell there was a real love of the traditions they represented just bursting out of what they did .   I also loved how the act(s) were very  'Vaudeville' .

During the Dr. Feelgood film , I remember thinking that if our old mate 'Roo' could have seen Wilko Johnson 'chunking out' on that battered Telecaster , even he would get a sense of the sheer cojones inherant in the instrument.

Brilliant stuff all round.  :D  8)

UFO - Strangers in the Night

Another great album - that got me 'all giddy' in the 70's.  I played the record to death at the time - and even now I'm middle aged, boring and Jazzy , I still keep the CD version for " The correct education of today's Youth " ....

Strangers in the Night influenced my lead playing a lot. I do a lot of Schenker-esque things I think, just not as fast or good!

I'm listening to it again today. Schenker has a great style indeed - i love it when he gets all epic.

Yesterday I added Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There be Rock and For Those About to Rock.... to my AC/DC collection. Currently listening to Dirty Deeds. Great album, great tone. Left me GASing for an SG (again!)
I think I hate being indecisive.

Meshuggah "Alive" live CD/DVD.

Had a discussion with my 3 year old son on which is the best track.  He reckons "Stengah", I reckon "Pravus"... :)

Judas Priest - British Steel (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

Oooo! What extras (of an auditory nature) are on this?

Eg wouldn't it be good if there were any live tracks from the Colston Hall on March 9th...
