Whitesnake - Lovehunter

I bought the Classic Rock special edition with the new album, and reading all that band history made me nostalgic for the old stuff, even though I haven't really been a Whitesnake fan since the '80s.

I bought this one on the day of release way back in '79, but haven't heard it for years because I only had it on vinyl.  Hearing it on CD is weird - it's familiar, but the production is so different from modern rock albums.  Still love "Walking in the Shadow of the Blues"!  :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I'm having a Motorhead moment, Overkill followed by Bomber followed by Ace of Spades. Three classic albums.

Foo Fighters - Wasting Light. Haven't decided whether I like it enough to buy yet - the copy I have is terrible quality so it will be getting deleted soon!

I can't stop listening to Every Time I Die. They're bloody brilliant. I can't find anything like it. It's southern metal but with more interesting riffs and time signatures. So much energy. The Big Dirty and New Junk Aesthetic are such great albums.

Really? I've never listened to them much but I'd thought they were an pretty straight up, entirely mediocre metalcore band. Maybe some further listening should be in order.

They are.
however...
I just found a jam on youtube by them called Wonderlust, and then I found some Ferret Records stuff, and it's quite different. Not totally different. Maybe they just changed it up a bit. Just reminded me of why I've pretty much continously overlook the Ferret roster.

I think their earlier albums are a bit boring and more like the typical metalcore thing, but The Big Dirty and New Junk Aesthetic sound way better than any other metalcore I've heard. TBD has the southern metal swagger. Took me a few listens to get into it. Think these are some of my favourite songs from the album:

We'rewolf
Pigs Is Pigs
InRihab
