Oh yeah, I like that one. It was a great band. I think Martin Barre is a bit underrated.

Very underrated!  I do like quite a lot of prog (for want of a better word) generally, but Martin Barre always gave Jethro Tull a hard rock element which makes the band appeal to me more than, say, Yes or Genesis.

And I like the flute too.

Absolutely true. I wasn't so much into symphonic 'rockbands', but Tull created a happy marriage between folk, rock en symphonic music in very good compositions. The flute became a trademark, but I was always more focussed on Barre. He played amazing licks. Very tasty!

Thanks to my father I grew up on Jethro Tull. I think it shaped my musical tastes a whole darn lot.

Right now I am listening to a classic rock station here in Sweden (the only one my MP3 player can get here). Where I come from in Germany there is no radio station that playes rock (some do more mainstream stuff from time to time but always just feels like 20% of their songs at the absolute max).
I therefore really enjoy this a lot, great to listen so to many amazing songs again. Throwback city right here.

Right now I have a few days of listening to some rap stuff. Interresting to listen to the flow, pacing and rythm of a good rapper. Can give cool ideas for guitar playing as well.
Plus guys like Casper actually have real bands who sometimes play interresting things. Love the studio version of Kontrolle / Schlaf. Nice use of an Ebow there.
Really, even if it is german rap, I think you might apprechiate some things he and his guys do here. http://youtu.be/QdWtyEfiyAk

Sides that:

Casper - XOXO
Mac Miller - KIDS
Mac Miller - Blue Slide Park
Fort Minor - The Rising Tide

Finally got to listen to Slash - Apocalyptic Love. Had that lying around since forever but forgot about it. Shame I did so, as it is a mighty fine rock album. I feel I can learn a lot from what he does there. Amazing stuff.

Now if I could just get the chorus to "Crazy Life" out of my head...

Yep, that is a great album indeed. Me and Jane had it on near constant repeat in the car when it came out. That and AB III - also a great great album. I've not listened to Fortress yet but will o doubt give it a go soon.

Lately I've been mainly listening to a mixture of Rush, Nick Cave and Derek Trucks. Bit of a mixture there!
I think I hate being indecisive.

Rory Gallagher - Tattoo

Inspired by AndyR's thread about the recent Rory Gallagher remasters, I'm working my way through the albums, slowly, in chronological order.  This one's the best so far, I think...

I got the new Kreator blu ray + 2CD box set called 'Dying Alive'.  It's excellent.  A German release, I don't know if the blu ray is region-locked (on Region B) as I don't have a Region A player.  It's great that they are still going strong after thirty years!
