yeah il probably get a whole new soldering kit thing next time im doing something with the electrics in any guitars so i have no excuse :P For now though im getting my teacher to do it. He said something about maybe it needs some flux on it? I was just wondering what this stuff is?

Mine is a 50W Weller, pointy tip. Excellent for guitar soldering.

Ok i received the solder that tim sent (of course you didnt forget it :wink: ) but my iron was playing up and not heating up enough to melt solder, so i thought id give it a miss.  I just hope my teacher will be able to do it quickly otherwise that'l eat into lesson time  :o !
