Music King Guitar kits?
« on: October 01, 2006, 06:55:51 PM »
...well they are dirt cheap. Quite tempted despite the naff hardware and the basswood. Thought I could build a PRS/LP copy, paint it up and flog it on if I didnt like it. I even have a few decent spare parts I could use instead to make it look barely cool

Or should I just keep saving for those computer bits I'd promised myself

Yeah, well its a shop, he buys them in from somewhere:

Try this

TBH I'm not sure now... might just buy a decent body of wood and cut it myself. Then just get a premade neck. May be cheaper and better quality that way..

I think the price is unbelievable!

And hey, my MM Axis is basswood body maple neck, so the wood type as such is no issue because that guitar really rocks!

I do wanna know about your experiences when you give it a go ...

i think the body and neck will probably be worth the money.. i'd upgrade the hardware on them and stick some decent pickups in.. surely u cant go wrong for that price..

The kits are made by a company called Saga
They are ok as it goes for the money
Nothing special though as far as guitars go

Fun to put together though

Cheers for that, might look Saga up and see what happens.

As for Basswood, someone on here already helped point out (was it Wez?) that basswood gets a bad rep due to the poor cuts being used on budget instruments. I was wondering if these were the poorer cuts, so to speak

But yeah, my thoughts exactly on the Warpigs.
