Pawn Shop Schecter!
« on: October 05, 2006, 05:20:55 AM »
I picked up a Schecter Diamond series 'Omen 6'  :? for around 70 quid in a Las Vegas SuperPawn shop! I cleaned it up, pulled the cr@ppy stickers of it, tuned her up and it plays really nice! There's only a little ding on the front. 'Pig and a MQ' for this baby!

Anyone know how much these are in the UK?

There's tonnes of stuff in these pawn shops, it's worth a holiday for that alone!  8)
Warpig, MQ,
Miracle Man-Trilogy Suite, Cold Sweats, Black Guards, Rebel Yells & Irish Tours!

Tuned down to C I hope PDT_045.

I just checked the Schecter website and its a basswood body so the 'Pig should be great!
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon

You gotta love those deals. My last 3 guitars are from the same pawn shop. Latest was a Yamaha RBX 374 bass.   8)

I found my ESP Lynch model in our local pawn shop. I got it for $200 and a case :P .

Still working on it though, some things are wrong with the wiring.....

^ exactly, I went into the crack converters in belfast a while ago, just for a laugh, just in case (you know, maybe they'll have a '58 les paul and not realise it, for like £50...). not good.

I think the omens go for about £250-£300 over here...

doubt it, I saw a Gibson Melody Maker (mid 60s) for 900 quid, but it was seriously wrecked (looked like my son had glued the headstock back on with snot)

Thanks for the replies lads. It plays really nice. So a Warpig would do a good job. This things gonna get on the Richter scale when I've finished with it! Definitely going to tune the muther down to a C with big fat wires too!

The bargains in that shop are mind bending! I helped my friends wife kit out their oldest son with an Ibanez and a Dean Markley amp for around $130! It needed 2 trem springs and some strings so we got them in a guitar shop. I had it all fixed up when he came home from school. It was his birthday too so everyone was very happy!  :D

Home cinema amps in that shop by the shelf load too.

Plus all the profits go to a children's Charity.  8)

exception rather than the rule unfortunately. All the Pawn Shops in a 100 mile radius of me had cr@p or overpriced stuff on par with buying from a dealer :(
Now, small mom/pop stores, they could be goldmines!

Johnny, did ya make it to Ed Romans? That guy is a class 1 asshole but does have an immense stock to look at/play.

Yes Nick I did! It's overwhelmingly big! I did a quick look around. Then bought strings, picks, Axe Wax oil and a cable. Got the info i need for the HBE products and left!

I heard some of the guitarists in town jamming on the gear. Put it this way, if anyone who has submitted clips in BKP's wanted to make money in a band in Vegas, you would get work as long as you played the game right and your band are as good or better than you!  8)
We rock in here! Just you all remember that!!  8)   8)
