....hold on there young Padawan...

Not to wish you any ill will but my Darwinian genes have been tested for survival value for considerably longer than yours so lets keep our fingers crossed that you can get out of the kinda sticky situations many of us over 30 have negotiated....

Don't place all your bets on "natural causes".... :(

 That was my first thought - and cheaper than a new one 8) Good condition considering the age, too.

The problem comes with me not having £1450 though

18th next May, and my Dad reckons a guitar the same age as me would be quite a cool present after I mentioned it yesterday (but he hasn't seen the price tag yet) so I might take him round some shops and have a look if there's anything around nearer the time :)

Show him the 3K McGuinn model then (www.ricsrus.com) then show him the lucile that may help (yeah right)

I would say try the 12 string strat theyre fun, as it should be pretty nice with the top end that the Engl seems to have. Even better get time to invent a new pickup for you hahaha.

Thers a lot of nice stuff out there (yes there are decent guitars from every year, just some are harder to find).

As Richard Dawkins would say I'm successful as I have already passed my genes on (more than once)

With comments like that your chances of success are becoming more remote every time somebody reads it ;)

The chances of your statement being correct are also decreasing everytime one of us coffin dodgers reads it (it's amazing the amount of damage you can do with a pair of carpet slippers)

My LP with Black Dogs is 53 years old, so it is always a bit older than me!

A '53 Goldtop with Black Dogs?  Nice!  What muppet ripped out the original P-90s and re-routed it though  :(

It was refinished as a sunburst in the late 50's or early 60's.  It is actually the guitar on the cover of the 'Atlantic Blues Guitar' cd, so if anyone has that you know what it looks like.  If you don't, it is the cherry sunburst in the pic attached.
So many pickups, so little time

Don't have anywhere near the cash right now, I'll be looking around nearer the time - even if I don't find anything it'll be fun spending a day or two looking 'round the shops and marvelling at the real old stuff they've got there :drink:

I'm 26 and yet seem to be alone in being the one who feels about 80! It's true though, there is only so much abuse that you can put a human body through before it starts to get a bit painfull.  PDT_022  PDT_030  PDT_047

'Your only 17, you've got a lot to learn but when your ...mmy .... '

The song 17 by The Sex Pistols. It's as relevant now as it was 29 years ago. Read the lyrics and learn :!:

Then when you get to an age of the MEN in here you'll realise just what a *****R you were as a spoilt kid!  :P   If you've got the balls that is.
