Has anyone seen those commercials with Slash playing the guitar through the stack of cars? I freaking love the look of the guitar for some reason.

Apparently if you buy one of their new models they give you this guitar with a preamp that allows you to play through your car's speakers. The guitar also matches the color of your car! I'm sure it sounds like complete shitee but it looks so damn sexy to me for some reason... Anyway, what do you guys think?

Hell I want one!  I need access to one of those cars and ability to make video so I can enter the contest.... videos can only be 30 seconds long.... how hard can it be? :)

Yeah I kind of wanted to do that too, but I'm not really a pro-shredder (I can shred, but just enough to check it off on the tricks I can do list) like tons of other guitarists are... and I'm sure the only thing that'll get attention in 30 seconds is shredders so I think I'm out of luck :(

Well the guitar has a string retainer to retain the strings- a useful addition.

I read abot that VW guitar. I'd rather have that Gibson 1960 Corvette Les Paul if anyone remembers that one.

I'm not buying a car to get a guitar.

I guess the offer won't be extended to Europe then. Ah Well.

We don't get free guitars, but at least we won't have to tell people we drive a "Rabbit".

Body shape from Brian May's Red Special, multi-part pickguards from Burns (with another dash of Brian May) and headstock from an old Chandler 555.

Looks like the "design team" at First Act haven't got one original thought in their collective brains.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

One out of 100 people can shred.. you may not be up against a shredder.... and judges may not know that the 20 note sweeping arpeggio they played is any harder than what you played either....

I think of myself in the same way.... I can shred, but I really need to practice it more than I bother...  but I should be able to wing 30 seconds no problem ;)

I wonder what you need for a preamp to use a regular guitar through that car stereo?

The other thing you people are forgetting is that if you enter this contest, you can dazzle the judges with tone! You have BKP's, bloody well use them...They'll soon get tired of hearing the same old EMG sound over and over :drink:

I tried recording my self and my friend with my video camera and it just did not sound anywhere near what it sounds like to us while we were recording... I mean I guess that's to be expected but I wish there was a way to record my guitar and my amp.

On a related note.. does anyone know how to reduce the volume intake on my macbook's mic so that it doesn't "clip" and sound all sorts of bad?

Well the way to do it is to whack a mic in front of your amp and run it through a preamp of some sort into your computer, and record your playing on both the video camera and the pc - that way you can take the video from the camera and put the sound from the pc over the top :drink:

That would work, but I don't have a mic. Or a preamp! Gah... more money to spend for my precious tone.
