Painkillers In TG

I saw a Painkiller pickup in Total Guitar magazine today, i also saw the Warpig and Nailbomb. That is all as i can't remember what it said about them lol But i think the Painkiller had a thing next to it saying it was TG's pick out of the pickups reviewed.

Haha yeah, MCR are terrible. Though it had Zakk Wylde with his unbelieveably cool mirror bullseye Les Paul guitar.

I've noticed that all the mags lately have been getting progressivly worse.

Who the hell cares about AFI's new hairstyle????

I've found that Guitar One seem's ok. This months feature was with John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert.

The reviews would be interesting though.....

EDIT: Just noticed that this was my 100th post!, still got a way to go to match Sambo

I think i remember reading in that TG mag that Paul Gilbert has finished his little corner in Total Guitar forever, so yes it is getting worse.

That's funny, because I used to read Guitarist magazine & stopped because it was the opposite - they frothed endlessly about any guitar or amp that cost >£2k and/or was built before 1969 as if it was the second coming, you could have read a few issues & been forgiven for thinking that expensive = good, cheap = bad
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

That's why you need an understanding local newsagent, so you can have a proper look through the magazine before deciding to buy (or otherwise).

I find that the TG 'special' editions actually have more in them, but for some reason I can never find them in the newsagents in and around London. Whereas in Befast theres atleast 3 places I can have a rummage before considering purchase

guitar buyer and guitarist might be worth a look, though you'd need to check each month just to be sure they have good reviews at that specific time...

I found Guitar Buyer to be the best, but as with all magazines, they seem to give anything a good review which is annoying.

You can say that about most transcriptions in any tab books though (there IS a reason for online guitar tabs.... the way I see it, they can't even get it right in the books they sell, so what right do they have to ban tabs?)

... but I totally agree with you once again.

Guitarist is pretty balanced these days. I also like Guitar and Bass - a good range of stuff every month.
