trem-stop UK seller?

this looks like a useful little device, and should be cheap too.

i found plenty of places in the US selling it, but thats not too helpful as I'd like a seller in the UK.

there was nothing at the UK versions of WD or AllParts, and no obvious google hits :(

allparts sell the tremol-no which replaces the spring claw, so no drilling necessary.  it has two thumb screws, giving you the options of full floating, dive only (which is what that screw thing you've pictures would do) or hardtail.  i have one in a Patrick Eggle Los Angeles, and it works perfectly.

no doubt more expensive than that trem-stop, but more versatile and easier to use.  with the thumb screws you can change settings instantly.

hi blue, yes i saw the tremol-no and the tremsetter too.

they seem a bit expensive, but its good to hear from a BKPer it does the job.

indeed, i wanted to set up the trem in 'dive only' mode. i think it should make the trem a bit stabler and easier to tune as well, by setting it up resting the block slightly on the bolt. i almost never use the trem to raise the pitch in any case.

i'll see if anyone else replies, and keep the tremol-no in mind if not. i dont mind a bit of drilling.

no, the screws are on a shaft that goes between the spring claw and the trem block, when you tighten the screw it just stops the shaft from moving which in turn stops the bridge from moving.  you COULD do it mid song, it would be a little awkward but i suppose with practice it might be handy enough.  between songs would be no problem at all, it only takes a couple of seconds.

I think that's the way it works.

that's one of the great things about it, you can do a quick drop D tune on your trem guitar!  on the tremol-no forum a couple of people have been saying how their EVH d-tuna finally works properly now that they can lock the trem in place.  it'll even work on a fully floating floyd rather than eddie's preferred flat to the body set-up.

i sound like a salesman now, or a tremol-no evengelist!  the thing is, it's a very simple device that does what it's supposed to do.  of course, long term reliability remains to be proven.

^ yeah, i had thought of that (i have a d-tuna lying around that I got rid of since it couldn't be used with a floating trem).

still, to get full up-pull, you'd need an extra bit routed out to accommodate the d-tuna.
