Long Legs and Short Legs

Probably a question for Tim and the guys, but maybe someone knows the answer:

I just received my Riff Raff for my SG-X (thank you! :D ) and found on opening the box that it has short legs, whereas my Abraxas and RY have long legs.  Not complaining, it's fine either way, but I was just wondering:

Is "leg length" a specifiable option on all pickups, or do BKP choose the appropriate length based on the guitar type?

i was sent a cold sweat with long legs for a strat.. rather annoyed when it arrived and had to route my guitar out slightly for it to fit, coz i couldnt be arsed waiting for them to be sent back etc.

so yea if i order again im going to specify from now on.

Yeah, I was thinking about when I get pickups for my Strat.  It already has HBs and I've never dismantled it, but I suspect they'll turn out to be of the short-legged variety.

I had to order long legs for my guitar because Im direct mounting them to the body and I made sure that i specified that in the order.  When I order the abraxas set for my Peavey Wolfgang, i need to make sure that I specify the short leg cause there really isnt a lot of room on the wolfgang pickup routes.

If you tell them the guitar they will generally know the length, but  it is always better to specify as much as you can.  PRS guitars need short leg bases too and also a magnet flip if you are using the 5 way.

Generally we always go for long/vintage leg on LPs, if we're unsure then the shorter leg is always a safe option.Specify by all means!

I'll need a flipped-magnet neck pickup too when I order for my Strat, thanks for the reminder Phil.
