do you just keep on getting them and enjoy all the little differences?
I never intended to collect guitars, nor to own so many.  Yes, each guitar does something different - either a particular sound or a different tuning/string gauge or I just like the feel of a different shape neck etc...

Do you buy new guitars so you can try new pickups?
No, never.  Not even since I discovered BKPs :)

Can you not resist a deal?
Best deal I can remember getting was a US Jackson for $1300 but I was looking for something similar anyway.  If I really want someting I pay whatever it takes to get it, but I never buy something just because it's cheap.

Do you buy a guitar for a function?
Yes, I always have a particular use for it in mind when I buy a guitar.

Do you buy guitars and not play them 3 weeks later?
Only once - did a STUPID part-ex deal for a guitar that I didn't really inspect closely enough or play for long enough.  Almost as soon as I got it home I realised it was an absolute dog  - hardly played it & sold it later for a substantial loss.  To this day I'm not sure what the hell I was thinking...

do you think theres some sort of sensible upper limit?
Whatever it is, I'm waaaaay over it :)  Why is "The volume of my house" not an acceptable answer?
If I had to, I could cover most of my playing needs with four guitars:
one with tune-o-matic bridge & 2-humbuckers for "main" guitar
one with floyd rose & 2 humbuckers for leadwork
one with either floyd or wilkinson & H/S/S for single coil cleans and as a backup to the above two
   one acoustic
But I wouldn't have the huge palette of sounds currently available to me & wouldn't have as much fun choosing different guitars.  The last time I owned as few as four guitars was when I was about 17!  After I got my custom Jackson I had in mind around six guitars, each different, but somehow the list got longer as other guitars caught my eye & before I knew it, I needed a dedicated music room in my house.

How many guitars do you have anyway?
As my wife might be reading, I'll take the 5th on this one... :)

What guitars do you want to get next?
Something else with a floyd (either another Warmoth, or a custom built FV), A dreadnought acoustic, A nylon-strung acoustic, Another custom shop Jackson, A 3-pickup tele, An SG, A doubleneck
None of these has any chance of happening.  Well, maybe I might manage the first...
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I believe there's a guy on the market somewhere in Hull who sells used guitars etc?  I haven't had chance to check him out yet though...

Well, to be fair, London has lots of guitar shops, but most of them are surprisingly small.  And they seem to lag behind in getting the latest models.

Supreme stores usually kinda suck too though, because they always carry all the stuff you see in every store (Marshall, Crate, Gibson, Fender, and some cheaper Ibanez, Jacksons and LTDs and that's about it)
Real men turn their volume to 11!

Rebel Yells + Les Paul = the Ultimate Rock Pickup.

i used to collect lots of guitars, i've had about 24 at one time.
at the moment i've got one electric guitar, mainly due to financial trouble over the past 16 months which isnt an issue now thank god.

but over that 16 month of skintness i've learnt to resist buying stuff for the sake of it and really don't think i could find a better guitar than my strat anyway.

although i will be looking for another strat w/alder body (instead of ash) to use for single hum van halen (VHII of course) style setup.. apart from that i'll be pretty setup to be honest, oh and once the splawn arrives i might upgrade to a 4x12 instead of 2x12 cab at a later date.

I fancy a strat with a VHII too! I'm listening to VH all the time at the moment and I love it!  :D
