I think they still build them in a day if you want. You just turn up in the morning with all the stuf you want, and they'll build it in front of you.
I should be getting a 1224 soon.

Unfortunately, it does take a wee bit longer to build an amp and cab. :(

But quality is worth waiting for. ;)

Matamp are stunning amps. I have been down to the factory and played a 1224 at Dolphin in liverpool yesterday. awesome awesome clean tones, and the LX can definately do metal, but unlike amps like marshall, you actually have to crank it, coz its a real valve amp, to get your sound.

Off topic: I also played a Hiwatt Custom Classic 100 head and a Hughs and Kettner Trilogy Mk2, both amzing amps (the H&K is like a better version of a TSL really). Finally I played a Laney GH100l, and it was freakin' sweet! i was just looking for a clean amp, and at have the price of the others its such a great deal. Im loving the matamp and the Highwatt but the matamp has too much for what I want, tis a waste of a great amp for me to use it only on clean, and the hiwatt has no effectsd loop, gay.

I thought the LX sounded alot like a marshall (in a good way), but i does need to be properly cranked or you'll just get a low gain tone. A good boost helps though.
