So, I am seriously GASing for this guitar. But I won't buy a guitar that I can't fit any BKPs in. Does anyone know whether BK build mini humbuckers, or do maybe soapbars fit in there?

hmm not really as the "90" don't fit in frames, they have dogears or screws in the middle. also think these (*edit: the Gibsons) are actually humbuckers, aren#t they?

Soapbears don't fit into a firebird without routing.  Not sure if you can still get these:

But if you can, then they will fit.  You can also have the original pickups rewound.

i asked about this a while back, and i think the response was just that they don't get enough orders for it, and they'd have to set up their equipment for the smaller bobbins, so i don't think they do mini's

this will probably all have changed by now however, just to prove me wrong :D

I've heard that Wizard are good for rewinds if BKP doesn't do them.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

The problem is availability of parts
Tim is happy to rewind existing ones but a lack of consistent supply of parts has stopped him releasing his own

In comparison to full size humbuckers he wouldnt sell enough to repay the investment in having his own parts made as he has with the full size humbuckers

It's really a question I should ask the BKP chaps direct, but anyone know roughly how much rewinds cost?

I have a Gibson mini-bucker I'd like to get rewound - or possibly just get 4-conductor cable instead of the braided 2-conductor.  I'd do the cable myself, but I read somewhere that mini-buckers have a tendency to fall apart if you're not careful!
