Philly, I was kinda selling it anyway I really liked the sound, but all told it was my least favourite guitar, and I wanted some cash toward my legra and a mate that I'm kinda mentoring at guitar needed a guitar, and it was a good way to make sure he got a good axe to see him through.

I just read my post back in WFDs reply and noticed I said the 60 is my favourite humbucker. I meant neck humbucker. The ceramic pig is my favourite humbucker, followed closely by by Monster Miracle Man.

I have a EMG 60 in my neck position.  I just need a good microphone. I can use my GT6 but that will strip the pickup of its dynamics. It's rather dynamic for a EMG. It doesn't make your high register solos sound like toy laser guns (like in Dragonforce), which I like.  Rough though, gotta control the treble with it.

do you know the differences between the 60a and the 60!?
any good? the same stuff as the 81/85!?
i MEAN th etonal differences. i know that one is alnico and other ceramic.

Mine is ceramic but I would say that the difference between ceramics and alnico in EMGs is similar to BKPs.  Ceramics sound hotter, more focused, and tighter than alnicos under lots of gain.  I've noticed the top end also gets sharper but not harsher.  Alnicos sound rounder, warmer, and a little more vintage like. They probably are less compressed so they may be "bigger," but the power of ceramics makes the difference in "size" very small.

Well, I've just taken out an EMG 81/85 set out of my Feranades Steeler (Randy Rhoads copy) and replaced them with a MM in the brdge and a cold sweat in the neck and it ripps.  There is more bass than a EMG 81 but the tone is so much more fuller and all the tone is retained (no mud).  I now compare EMG's to like listening to your guitar through a glass bottle and BKP's are like removing the bottle.

I also have a MM in my Charvel 675 and it's killer.

I have an EMG 81 in my USA Warlock, but I've ordered a Nailbomb (bolt on neck you see)for that& if that don't work it's a ceramic War Pig.

The only thing I miss about the EMG is the racey sound you get, but what you get in tone from the BKP more than makes up for that.

You could always fit an afterburner and an active tone shaper to make use of your battery cavities. You'd get the best of both worlds then.
