I have added to my collection of guitars

well sort of...

For those who saw my post a while back they would know I just became a dad a few weeks back. I decided to get him a birthday present and set it aside.

Some people buy bottles of wine or jewelery.

I bought my boy one of these Strat's http://www.californiavintageguitarandamp.com/Fenderpages/Fender_032906010.htm

Not from that shop but from a local I always go to. I also bought a spare pick guard that the grand parents are going to sign "happy 21st".

Even if he doesnt become a guitarist at least it'll be worth something in 21 years time......... AND I"LL KEEP IT if he doesnt play.

I'll post some pics soon. Maybe tomorow.

nice! I remember you posted on the tavern saying you were going to get him something like that.

Now you just need to keep him away from internet guitar forums till he's 21, or you'll spoil the surprise!

^ I believe he was talking to Jp. not you haha :P

But great gift!! If you actually keep it hidden and untouched for the 21 years, it will be worth a lot!

Are you getting it BKP'ed btw?

Ah that is really cute- beats the "naked on a mat to show his girlfriend when he's older" picture. I bet you give it to him when he's 15 though. That was a great idea-would have been totally wasted with my two  (I have a 23 yr old  keyboard player and an 18 yr old  bassist). That guitar looks great-I would have to "play it in" for him if i were you.

I have bequeathed my 1989 Les Paul Standard to my lad in my will in case I pop my clogs but that's not quite on the same scale of generosity...!
