Thanks for all the sugestions (sorry for starting another "list the pickups" post)

I think a crawler may be what I want as this guitar is for when I stop playing classic rock and blues and need to have more grunt from the guitar, without going out and out metal. VH2 was considered but as I mentioned, I did not get on with the one I tried.
