8) the guitar worshipping fanboy in me has been woken again, after a quiet period!
Went to see MAB doing a guitar clinic in a little pub in chester, part of the Dean guitars \ Michael Angelo tour.
They didnt bring anything except some PA, a couple of MABs effects pedals and his double neck guitar....they just happened to be using the rig one of the local bands uses, a Peavey 5150 2 and my old ENGL Fireball that i sold not long ago!!!!
Was amazing! Batio didnt miss a beat and he played flawlessly, and was a down to earth genuinely funny guy! Played 9 or so songs and had a short Q & A session... best £4 i've spent, ever.
His new stuff is great, hes covered some classics and paid tribute to some of the greats, his version of Crazy Train was awesome! To put it in his own words 'Its like Randy, but with 50,000 extra of MY notes'
He sweepd the solo instead of tapping it, and kept all the good parts.. i got a video which i'll stick on YouTube asap!
SO yeah, great evening, he had a great sound, was using just general Dean stock guitars, he played through a Fireball into 2x12, with a delay and a Tubescreamer for some of the Led Zep classic rock bits..i think the 5150 was used for the double guitar bit, but it cr@pped out and wouldnt work in the soundcheck :lol:
Thats me off on GAS attack \ guitar mad faze again....
NOW, i just need to steal my amp back
