Are you going to swap P/U`s ? if so what ones are you looking at puting in ?

It'd be a shame to get rid of those TV Jones pickups, they're very much part of the "look".  Rewinds maybe?  But they probably don't need it.

For now I don't think they need a rewind. If at some point I hear something in the sound of these pickups that I don't like, I'll have them rewound.

The guitar sounds exactly the way I imagined it would.

BTW, I took off the dice and put the stock chrome knobs back on. The dice looked too bulky and not quite right on the guitar.

Before I heard of BKPs I'd considered getting some of TV Jones' standard humbucker sized pickups, just for something different.

I think it might be cool to put a TV Classic in the neck position of a Tele.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I've heard a guy playing a custom Tele with TV Classics. Still sounded like a Tele but with way more twang and a bit more growl.

Glad you like the Tele idea, guys!   :D  I think I'm going to go for it.

Must admit I've never seen a Gretsch-style pickup "in the flesh" - would it screw directly onto the body like a standard Tele neck pickup?  My Tele's already routed for a neck humbucker so I wouldn't need to mod it.

Didn't TV Jones used to have DC resistance and other specs on his website?  I can't seem to find them now.  They're pretty low-output though aren't they, wouldn't overpower a Tele bridge pickup?  I might even dust off my old Joe Barden bridge pup and try that.

very nice ratty....

Its good to see people breaking the usual mould of mainstream guitar buying.

If it werent for the fact that they are prohibitivly expensive in OZ I'd be buying them instead of strats

once again, nice one

Filtertrons are usually screwed directly on the body. However you can get a normal, Gibson style, mounted option. They call it the English mount. Filtertrons are roughly the size of mini humbuckers. So you'll need a custom pickguard. Standard bridge position Filtertrons have about 4.5K output, mine's about 8K. But don't let that fool you, they sound almost twice as loud.

Thanks for the info, Ratrod.

Project on hold for the moment, because I took my Tele apart today and found that some ar$ehole at Fender has completely bolloxed up the neck fitting.  I can't imagine why, but the holes through the neck heel have all been drilled wonky, so a couple of the holes in the neck are oversized/crooked  to compensate.  The screws almost fell out!

bar-stewards!  I've owned quite a few US Fenders and this has never happened before!

Woah that is class! I've been eyeing up semi acoustics for a while now and that is a beauty! I'd love to have a go on one and dip that Bigsby with loads of reverb on!!  8)
