Miracle Man with Alnico5 magnet ????
« on: November 12, 2006, 10:17:45 PM »
I've got a Miracle Man in my Les Paul, sounds great but I had a spare A5 magnet here that I got from Tim for another pickup.

Just wondering if anyone has an A5 Miracle Man or has opinions on how it would change the tone. anyone?

I'm thinking in general terms it's gonna give a slightly looser bass, increased mids and a smoother treble.

I think it would sound grainier.

Tim mentioned this in a thread quite a while back, pretty much as you said with increased pick attack. I've found it here, http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1101&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=paul+gilbert+miracle+man

hmmm, sounds like Tim has made Miracle Mans with no change but to use an A5 magnet AND they've sounded good.

I should stop wondering what this & that sound like - I'm my own worst enemy (heh).  Now that it's in my mind you KNOW I'll be taking my MM appart and putting an A5 magnet in there 'just to see'
