short Opeth-style clip using Mules
« on: November 13, 2006, 12:37:35 PM »
I was just playing around today and came across a riff that sounds kinda Opeth-like to my ears so I decided to program some drums for it and make a simple lead melody over the top. Not sure if the tone is really crisp and high gain enough for opeth though but its got a nice crunch

I used the bridge mule for rhythm, neck mule for lead. Soldano patch on V-Amp 2

Will probably extend it and make it better when I get my Laney and some recording eqpt :)

I'll check this out when I get home - sounds interesting!

Have you got any more neck Mule demos?

Nice, even with a VAmp2 it sounds good. It just proves Opeth is more on the vintage side in term of soundscape, even with their death metal influence

Twinfan, I did a Sweet Child O Mine recording a while back on the neck pickup, plus my Aces High solo was on the neck Mule as well.

Cheers fella - I'll look them up.  Still can't decide what variation of Mules/BDs to get in my Gibbo LP...
